Atlanta man arrested after 25 years of killing wife In April and June 1999, the body parts of a woman named Melissa were found in various locations in Atlanta. It is said that since these were found in different places, the tip of the suspicion did not extend to the husband and the investigating officers were being misunderstood.

Atlanta Police Lt. Andrew Smith made the announcement at a press conference on Wednesday, August 7. Melissa Wolfenbarger last contacted her mother on Thanksgiving Day 1998. Her mother, Norma Patton, reported her missing to the police in January 2000. However, Melissa's husband, Christopher Wolfenber, never reported his wife missing to the police. Christopher told police he saw Melissa walking down the street in April 1999.

Melissa's body parts were correctly identified in 2003. However, the police did not suspect the husband. It took another 21 years to catch her murderer.

Detective Jarion Shepherd, who investigated the case, says he took over the investigation in 2021. Again everything was checked including the evidence. That is how Christopher was arrested. The police also say that it is suspected that the killing of Christopher Melissa was part of a family dispute.

Melissa's mother says her daughter used to come to the house often. She loved children very much. That was the only reason she had returned to Christopher. In any case, they were relieved that their daughter's murderer had been arrested after so long.
