Listeria infection: Three dead, 15 hospitalized in Canada

Listeria infection death toll rises to three in Canada The infections were confirmed in people who consumed the Silk, Great Value brand of frozen drinks that were recalled due to listeria contamination. The native of Ontario died the other day. About 15 people have been admitted to the hospital. Many infected people have reported that they used the recalled products.

13 of the cases were reported in Ontario. Five cases have been reported in Quebec and one case each in Alberta and Nova Scotia, the health service said. People between the ages of seven and 89 have been infected. Most of the patients are women and are 50 years of age or older.
