Toronto Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to vehicle theft. Rewards are given to tipsters who provide verified information to the tip service that leads to the arrest of suspects in theft investigations. The reward is part of the auto-theft awareness campaign launched by the Toronto Police and Toronto Crime Stoppers.
Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw said vehicle thefts have increased in the past few years and organized crime groups are behind them. It is estimated that over 11,900 vehicles were stolen in Toronto last year.
