World Malayalee Cultural and Welfare Association of Canada organized WMCWAC cricket cup 2024 tournament

The cricket match was organized under the leadership of World Malayalee Cultural and Welfare Association of Canada (WMCWAC). The matches were held on August 24, 2024 at the Bridelwood Grounds in Calgary Southwest. Eight prominent teams from Calgary competed in it. The White Horn Kings took home the first prize of $750 and a trophy. The runner-up Black Knights put up a very strong match against the White Horn Kings. They received 350 dollars and a trophy.

Apart from these teams, Supergiants Calgary, Mavericks Cricket Club, Calgary Deccan Chargers, Bridal Stars, Cima Tigers and Calgary Legends have also seen strong competition in WMCWAC Cricket Cup - 2024.

In the awarding ceremony that followed, WMCWAC Chairman Sreekumar thanked the sponsors of this year's WMCWAC Cricket Cup, Munish Mehan (Insurance Broker) and Jigesh Rawal - CRICKPRO.Special thanks to umpires Nagarjuna, Sunil, Jomon and Neeraj. Other office bearers Anil Kumar Menon (President), Reviraj (General Secretary), Abi Abdul Rabb (Treasurer), Deepu Pillai (Sports Forum President) and Krish Nair (Vice Chairman) were present on the occasion. Deepu Pillai, president of WMCWAC's Sports Forum, informed that the WMCWAC Cricket Cup will be expanded to include more Malayali teams in the coming years.
