Whooping cough cases are on the rise in Toronto

Toronto Public Health reports that cases of whooping cough are on the rise in Toronto. 99 cases have been reported so far this year. This is more than double compared to the previous year, according to the agency's figures. This is significantly higher than the five-year average of 38 before the Covid pandemic. According to the health agency, 41 percent of the currently confirmed cases are among children between the ages of 10 and 14.
