New York: SpaceX's space launches have been stopped by the US Aeronautics and Space Administration. The Federal Aviation Administration has temporarily suspended Falcon 9 rocket launches. The move follows the successful launch of the Starlink satellites after the Falcon rocket's booster crashed back down on Earth. The FAA has ordered an investigation into the incident. Falcon Rocket has been banned until the investigation is completed. With this, the Polaris space mission became uncertain.
The launch of the Polaris Dawn mission, which aims to be the first private spacewalk, has been postponed again. Polaris Dawn is a private mission in which two passengers exit the spacecraft after going into space aboard SpaceX's Dragon probe. This is the first time that a private company is undertaking such a mission. The Polaris Dawn mission team, led by American billionaire Jared Isaacman, consists of four people. Other members include former US Air Force pilot Scott Poteet and SpaceX engineers Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon. Jared and Sarah Gillis step out of the spacecraft wearing special spacesuits. The spacewalk will be at a distance of 700 km from Earth. They will spend up to five days in space.
