Prime Minister condoles Yechury's demise

Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of CPM All India General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. In a condolence message posted on Prime Minister X, the Prime Minister said that Yechury was the light of the Left. The Prime Minister added that Yechury was also an accomplished parliamentarian and shares his family's grief. Modi also posted a picture of himself holding hands with Yechury on X.


Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said Yechury was a long-time friend and shares the family's grief. I have known Yechury since my university days. The governor also said that Yechury is a youth leader who emerged in the 70s and 80s. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin recalled Yechury's death as shocking. A brave leader who was committed to justice. Stalin also said that it is an inspiration for the generations to come.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also recalled Yechury as a brave communist who always stood against communal forces. He stood on the side of democracy against communalism and corporatism. It is a big loss for Indian democracy. Siddaramaiah also said that he shares the grief of Yechury's family.
