Dominique Pellicote, the suspect in the rape case who shocked France, said that he was a rapist and that he was one of the 50 people who raped his wife. The crime against him is that he drugged his wife for 10 years and then raped her by strangers.

The rape case that rocked France a few days ago is known to the outside world. Pellicott, 71, allegedly solicited people to rape his wife online and elsewhere. Before that, his wife was drugged and unconscious. He had also recorded footage of strangers raping his wife. The court is trying 50 people who sexually assaulted Pelikot's wife since 2011.

Pellicote also gave certain instructions to the men who summoned him so that his wife would not know he was being exploited. However, later the rape information came out. His wife divorced him last month. His wife responded that she never expected this and never once suspected that her husband would do this.

Now during the trial Pelicott has said he is a rapist and that his wife never deserved this. Pellicott claims that he loved his wife very much and that his childhood experiences made him like this.

He says that his father and mother always abused each other and he had to witness two rapes during his youth. Dominique Pellicote had already pleaded guilty to rape. However, he spoke about his crime for the first time on Tuesday after his trial began on September 2.

"What I did was wrong, and I am guilty of it. I ask my wife, my children and my grandchildren to accept my apology. I ask for forgiveness," Pellicott said.

After Pellicote's arrest, there were large protests in France, including demonstrations in support of his wife and against him.
