WhatsApp, one of Meta's social media platforms, is rolling out new security features. One of these is the Block Unknown Account Messages system that blocks messages from unknown numbers. Some beta testers have already got this option on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp has started introducing a feature in the beta version that protects users from messages from unknown accounts. This feature will classify messages from unknown numbers. But for this you need to go to settings and enable the feature. The feature can be enabled by going to Settings in the WhatsApp menu and selecting options like 'Privacy-Advanced-Block Unknown Account Messages'. WhatsApp explains that this feature is introduced to improve the functionality of the device in addition to protecting your account. But also note that this feature will not block messages from unknown numbers. It is hinted that this feature will be active only when the messages accumulate beyond the specified limit. Metta thinks that the new feature could be to block spam messages to make WhatsApp usage private.
