The ranking is based on safety, (based on Crime Severity Index or CSI) affordability, recreational facilities, parks etc.
Calgary is the most affordable city to live in compared to other major cities in the country. With a CSI of 74.47, Calgary is safer than other large cities in the country. Housing prices are also relatively low. The median home price in Calgary is around $588,600. According to the report, the city offers more affordable options for rent as well.
A large number of jobs in the oil and gas sector and a high demand for professionals including nurse attendants, retail managers and administrative officers led Calgary to the top spot.
