Aim to bring back Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore; SpaceX Crew 9 launch today

 

Today is the launch of NASA's SpaceX Crew 9 to return Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore. The launch will take place at 10.47 pm IST on Saturday from the SLC-40 launch pad at Cape Canaveral Station in Florida.

The two-passenger Crew 9 spacecraft will return Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore to the space station on the Starliner mission. Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who arrived at the space station aboard the Boeing Starliner probe in June, were stranded in space due to technical problems with the probe.

NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian Roscosmos astronaut Alexander Gorbunov will travel to the space station in the Crew 9 probe to bring them back.
