Delhi: India's antidote to Canada's move to impeach officials including the Indian High Commissioner in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India has stated that it is recalling all the officials targeted by Canada, including the High Commissioner, to be accused in the case. India's move is to clarify that it does not think that Canada will ensure their safety. India will respond to the Canadian policy of helping terrorists, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had protested against the Canadian government's move by directly summoning the Canadian High Commissioner. India also demanded that the Indian High Commissioner should not be made an accused. Canada had sought India's permission to file a case against the Indian High Commissioner, including in the killing of Niger. With this, the diplomatic relations between the two countries are deteriorating again.
Earlier, India had reacted strongly against Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In a statement, India accused the Canadian Prime Minister of playing vote bank politics and surrendering to religious fanatics. The Ministry of External Affairs also pointed out that it is looking to impeach the Indian High Commissioner because Trudeau has surrendered to religious extremists.
At the same time, the relationship between the two countries is strained after the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. Three Indian nationals have been arrested in the case. Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh and Karanpreet Singh have been arrested by Canadian police in Hardeep Singh Niger murder case. They were captured from Edmond. All the three arrested are Indian nationals. The Canadian police had stated that they have been in Canada for the last three to four years. Trudeau has repeatedly criticized India on the issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others have also given a blunt reply to the Canadian Prime Minister. The Canadian government is now moving to impeach the Indian High Commissioner when he thinks that the problems are over.
