City Council report that Calgary has the worst roads in Canada. A report presented to the City Council's Infrastructure and Planning Committee said most of the city's roads are in need of repair and funding for repairs should be increased. Calgary City currently spends $2,000 per kilometer on city roads. But the report says the amount is much lower than in big cities like Edmonton and Montreal.
According to the report, 38 percent of the city's road network is in good condition, 36 percent is essentially in good condition and 26 percent is in poor condition. The report points out that people want the government to give more priority to transport and focus on roads.
Meanwhile, less than half of Canadians are satisfied with the condition of city roads, the survey suggests.
