Uber drivers outside Toronto Pearson International Airport protest. Drivers said the protest was not to delay passengers, but to raise awareness about how Uber's new up-front pay system is costing drivers money. The drivers had received permission from the Greater Toronto Airport Authority to hold the protest.
George Wedge, president of the Rideshare Drivers Association of Ontario, said it was an awareness campaign, not a strike. He said his goal is to make consumers and the public aware of how Uber's up front pay algorithm is costing drivers. The association said it has been collecting information from drivers who have been underpaid since Uber rolled out its up-front pay algorithm on October 8.
