The Ontario government has announced a rebate of $200 to taxpayers. This will be implemented from the beginning of next year. The rebate has been announced as a relief against the rising cost of living. This was announced by Premier Doug Ford along with Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvi.
Both said that as part of the new decision, each eligible child will be given an additional $200. Through this, a total of 12.5 million adults and 2.5 million children will get the rebate. The government expects to spend about three billion dollars. Rebate is available to all taxpayers irrespective of income. The reaction of the opposition parties to the new announcement was that it was a fraud ahead of the elections.
