Dubai: It is reported that Qatar withdrew from the mediation of Israel-Hamas ceasefire and hostage release talks. The withdrawal was communicated to Israel and Hamas. The US was also convinced. Qatar has also announced that Hamas's office in Doha will no longer function.
Qatar's withdrawal from the crucial position is due to accusations that Israel and Hamas are not participating in the talks sincerely. With this, the peace movement is again in crisis. Qatari diplomatic sources told the news agency AFP that unless both sides are willing to participate in the negotiations in good faith, the mediation talks have no meaning and therefore cannot continue.
Qatar has been negotiating with the US and Egypt for months to broker a hostage release and cease-fire. However, no effective decisions have been made so far. The US and Qatar announced talks last month to find new terms ahead of this week's US election as US President Joe Biden's term ends. But this move also did not bear fruit.
