Cosmetic surgery and various treatments have gained a lot of popularity in recent times. Surgeries like liposuction, breast augmentation, facelifts, etc. are gaining popularity worldwide.
These surgeries allow one to change their appearance as desired, but there are huge risks associated with it. If left untreated, these treatments can sometimes lead to death. A similar incident was reported yesterday. This was the news of the death of a young woman who underwent 6 cosmetic surgeries within 24 hours. This shocking incident has been reported from China.
According to the South China Morning Post, a young woman named Liu from Guigang, Guangxi Province, southern China, died. They underwent six surgeries in one day at a clinic in Nanning. For this, they took a loan of Rs 4.6 lakh and paid it to the clinic.
The woman's surgeries and subsequent death took place in December 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the incident was discussed again when her family approached the court against the cosmetic clinic demanding compensation. After the surgeries, the young woman collapsed in the clinic and was immediately shifted to another nearby hospital, but she died.
According to the report, the cause of Liu's death was respiratory failure caused by a pulmonary embolism after a liposuction procedure. The family members had lodged a complaint against the clinic and demanded compensation of Rs.
However, the clinic officials claimed that they were not responsible for Liu's death and that Liu had already taken responsibility for the accidents related to the surgery before the treatment. But the court ordered that the clinic is fully responsible for the death.
