16 sunrises a day, six astronauts on the space station; Booker Prize Samantha Harvick

London: British author Samantha Harvick won the Booker Prize this year. The science fiction novel 'Orbital' was awarded the award. The prize money is 50,000 pounds (54 lakh rupees). Samantha won the award for telling the story of six passengers on the International Space Station orbiting the Earth. Samantha started writing the novel during the lockdown. Astronauts from the US, Russia, Italy, Britain and Japan witness 16 sunrises and sunsets in 24 hours.

The jury described it as a wonderful novel that makes our world strange and new. Samantha has previously mentioned that videos of Earth from the International Space Station inspired her to write the novel. Bariharakasa considered books written by space travelers and science videos to write the novel. Samantha said that looking at Earth from space is like a child looking in a mirror.
