Canadians are concerned about increasing immigration, a new survey has found. More than 20 per cent believe immigration is the cause of the country's economic hardship. The survey was conducted by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

Canadians have accused the government of paying too much attention to new citizens and refugees. The survey also found that refugees receive too many benefits. The survey assessed that public sentiment against immigration is rising compared to previous years. The survey was conducted after Ottawa announced significant changes to immigration policies. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently admitted that the government could have acted faster to reduce immigration.
