Qatari Emir receives royal welcome in Britain; King Charles presents highest honor

London: Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who arrived in Britain on a two-day visit, was given a grand welcome. The Emir and his wife were welcomed by the British Air Force escorted by fighter jets on Monday evening.

On Tuesday, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani were given a reception by King Charles. The Emir was welcomed by King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the Royal Horse Guards Arena. The royal reception was attended by ministers, nobles, military generals and senior officials. The national anthems of Qatar and Britain were played, followed by a guard of honour.

The Emir and his wife were then taken to Buckingham Palace in a stately carriage. The Emir was awarded the title of Grand Knight of the Order of Charles III, Britain's highest honour. The Founder's Sword, Qatar's highest honour, was also presented to King Charles. The Emir of Qatar received a grand welcome in Britain.
