Washington, D.C.: President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday that he is selecting former news anchor and staunch Republican Carrie Lake to be the director of the U.S. government-funded media organization Voice of America. She was previously an anchor at Phoenix-based Fox 10.
Voice of America (VOA) is an international media broadcaster that operates online, on radio and on television in more than 40 languages.
“Unlike the lies spread by the fake news media, Carrie will ensure that American values of freedom and liberty are fairly and accurately broadcast around the world,” Trump said in a post on his Truth social media site.
They lost the governor's race in swing state Arizona in 2022 and also failed to win an Arizona Senate seat last month.
