X hikes rates in India; Pay more for subscription

Delhi: Social media giant Twitter has increased the rates of its subscription services in India. The monthly charge for top-tier Premium Plus subscribers was Rs 1,300. This has been increased to Rs 1,750. The annual subscription for Premium Plus subscribers, which was earlier Rs 13,600, has now been increased to Rs 18,300.

X has also increased its rates in India after price hikes in major international markets including the US, European Union, Canada, Nigeria and Turkey. X has stated in a statement that the rates have been increased to improve the user experience and further improve the existing platform.

Even though the rate hike in the country is low compared to the prices in global markets, X is also offering an affordable option for the common man. One of them is the budget-friendly Basic Tier option. It costs Rs 243.75 per month.

X has announced that the revised rates will be effective from December 21, 2024. , Subscribers will be charged the revised rates from this date. However, X has also announced that those who have already subscribed will continue to pay the same rates until the next billing date. They will only have to pay the new rates when they renew their subscription.
