According to a report by CloudSec, 95 organizations in India were victims of data leaks in 2024. The United States, which was subjected to 140 cyber attacks leading to data breaches, tops the list. Israel, which faced 57 cyber attacks, is in third place.

India is a country where digitalization is spreading rapidly. The finance and banking sectors in India were the most affected by cyber data breaches. There were 20 such cases. Meanwhile, 13 cyber attacks related to government institutions, 12 attacks related to telecommunications, 10 cyber attacks related to the healthcare sector and 9 cyber attacks related to education were found to have occurred in the country last year.
The report states that the United States was the victim of cyber attacks due to economic and technological reasons, while Israel was the victim of geopolitical issues.
In 2024, major data breaches occurred in India that shocked the country. Some of these include the leak of 850 million details of Indian citizens from a high-tech group, the leak at health insurance company Star Health, and the leak of 2TB of sensitive data from telecommunications consultants in India. The report also states that there were 108 ransomware cyber attacks in the country in 2024.
