HMPV outbreak: India asks WHO to inform China on the situation in a timely manner

 

 

 

Delhi: India has asked the World Health Organization to inform China on the situation in a timely manner regarding the spread of HMPV virus (Human Metanpneumovirus). The Health Ministry has held a meeting to assess the situation. The Health Ministry said that there is no cause for concern in the country at present. At the same time, it has instructed states to prepare hospitals to deal with the emergency.
Meanwhile, China has clarified that there is no cause for concern in the country. Diseases caused by viruses occur every winter. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson responded that this year the disease is less than last year. China also clarified that tourists can enter.

However, it is reported that thousands of people are seeking treatment in hospitals in China every day. A new surveillance system has been started in the country with the aim of detecting the increase in pneumonia cases. Health experts have given instructions to the people to wear masks, keep their hands clean and maintain social distancing in a manner similar to the Kovid period.

Meanwhile, strict vigilance has been issued in China's neighboring countries. There are also reports of HMP cases being reported in Hong Kong.
