Alberta job market rebounds. More than 30,000 jobs were created last month, but wage growth remains sluggish.

Alberta’s unemployment rate fell to 6.7 per cent in December, down 1.2 per cent from a month earlier, Statistics Canada said in a jobs report released Friday. Alberta accounted for most of the 91,000 jobs added to the Canadian economy.
Calgary and Edmonton added 20,000 and 11,000 jobs, respectively. The largest job gains were in the manufacturing sector. Wages in Alberta rose 2.5 per cent from a year ago, but wages remain low compared to the rest of the country.
