New York: Location information of users, including those from popular smartphone applications Candy Crush Saga and Tinder, was leaked through data broker company Gravy Analytics. The news that the apps are handing over the information collected from users to companies like Gravy Analytics is shocking. The hacker claimed to be in possession of billions of location information leaked through Gravy Analytics from smartphone apps on both platforms, Android and iOS.

The Indian Express reports that 404 Media, a national media publication, has revealed that many phone apps that users consider trustworthy are not secure. This has become clear from the latest data leak from Gravy Analytics, a major location data broker in the US. The report says that many popular applications are using real-time location to delete user information. In this way, Gravy Analytics acquired the information collected by various apps and later fell into the hands of the hacker. Although more information about this data leak is still coming out, the discovery that it is spying on even major apps is serious.

A hacker has released some clues about the information leak in Gravy Analytics. This data is the source of shocking information that applications such as Candy Crush Saga and Tinder are leaking user information. It is reported that the hacker has obtained several TBs of customer information from Gravy Analytics. It is estimated that more than 30 million (three crore) location information has been leaked, including data from the White House, Vatican City, and various military bases around the world. This information reached the hacker through Amazon Cloud.

It is noteworthy that the information leak occurred after the American Federal Commission banned Gravy Analytics for selling customer information without permission.
