Several egg brands have been recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency following possible salmonella contamination. Eggs with specific lot code information of brands such as Compliments, Formost, Golden Valley Eggs, IGA, Western Family, No Name and other markets in Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan have been recalled.

The agency clarified that the eggs are being recalled based on lab reports and no illness has been reported to anyone after consuming the sold eggs. The agency recommended that buyers of potentially infected eggs discard or return them to the stores where they were purchased. Food does not look or smell spoiled if Salmonella is present. But the agency warned that it can cause various diseases.

A list of egg brands with specific lot code information can be found on the CFIA website.
