Tesla is set to increase the prices of its vehicles in Canada. The company announced that the price increase will take effect from February 1. The price of the Model 3 vehicle will increase by up to $ 9,000. The price of Tesla Model Y, X, and S vehicles will increase by up to $ 4,000. However, the company did not specify why the price increase is being made.
Tesla is raising prices in the midst of increased trade tensions between the two countries after US President Donald Trump announced that he would impose a 25 percent tariff on products imported from Canada from February 1. Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y were removed from eligibility for the federal electric vehicle incentive after the vehicles were increased by $1,000 in early January. The EV incentive ended on January 12 after the program ran out of funding. Transport Canada has not said when the program will resume.
