Environment Canada says this January was the third driest in Vancouver since 1897. The driest day was on January 20. Environment Canada says it has not yet received any measurable rainfall. For Abbotsford, it is the third driest January since 1945.
The dry weather in Vancouver is expected to continue at least through the middle of next week, the agency says. Most of January in BC is under high pressure. This high pressure is deflecting storm tracks, said meteorologist Lisa Erwen. The forecast calls for rain on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
