California: A massive cyber attack against the social media platform X. All services on X were down for several hours. Elon Musk, the owner of X and American billionaire, announced this himself. He said that there have been three cyber attacks against X since Monday morning and this is the largest cyber attack. Reports say that X's services were down for seven hours in many countries.
Elon Musk said that he does not know exactly what happened, but that there was a large cyber attack to disrupt the X system from IP addresses used from the Ukraine region. Musk said that a large group or a country is involved in this and that it is being investigated. Meanwhile, after Elon Musk said that X had been the victim of a cyberattack, the Dark Storm Team, a suspected pro-Palestinian hacker group, claimed responsibility for the cyberattack. The hacker group claimed responsibility through a post on Telegram.
Following the cyberattack, many X users complained that they were unable to load their pages or refresh their timelines. The first attack occurred at 6 am US time. 20,538 users reported the problem. It was fixed after a while. Later, a similar cyberattack occurred again at 10 am. This time, more than 40,000 users reported the disruption again. While the company's engineers were trying to understand the cause, another attack occurred at 12:30 pm.
