A minimum wage increase will take effect in Canada on April 1. The federal minimum wage will increase by 45 cents, from $17.30 to $17.75. The increase will help workers combat inflation and cope with the rising cost of living.

Along with the federal minimum wage increase, four Canadian provinces will also increase their minimum wage on April 1. Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Yukon are increasing their minimum wages.
