This feature is currently available on Instagram Stories, another messaging platform of Meta. Before this update, people could add a song to their WhatsApp status with a photo by editing the status using some other app and then uploading it.

From now on, WhatsApp users will get the option to upload music to their WhatsApp status itself. This feature has already been available to many WhatsApp users. The feature is expected to be rolled out to users around the world in the coming weeks.

How to add a song to WhatsApp status?

WhatsApp officials have confirmed that the new feature will give users access to a large library of songs. This will allow users to easily add music to their WhatsApp status updates. The process of adding a song to WhatsApp status is similar to that on Instagram.

From now on, when you create a new status, a music note icon will appear at the top of the screen. You can click on it to select the song. After selecting your favorite song, you can also choose which part of the song to use with the photo from the tracks given below. You can add songs to photos and videos on WhatsApp. With this new feature, you can add a 15-second song to the photo. You can also upload a 60-second song along with the video as a status.
