Local government seeks solution to avoid demolition of famous dinosaur statue

The local government is taking steps to resolve the issue as protests mount against the decision to demolish the famous dinosaur statue in Drumlor, Alberta. Tyra the Tyrannosaurus is the world's largest dinosaur statue. This city northeast of Calgary is known as the Dinosaur Capital of the World.

The Royal Tyrrell Museum here also has many dinosaur statues. But the main attraction of the city is the giant statue called Tyra. This 25-meter-high statue is built four times the size of the real dinosaur. More than 1.5 million visitors come to see it each year. However, it is currently being moved to be demolished in 2029. The land on which the statue, built in 2000, is owned by the municipality. However, the Drumler and District Chamber of Commerce owns and maintains the statue. Their lease expires in December 2029. Since it is such a large statue, it cannot be moved to another location. This is why it was decided to demolish it.

However, there is strong opposition to the move to demolish Tyra. Following this, the local government is preparing to address the issue. Mayor Heather Kohlberg announced that she will hold talks with the chamber. Our city is known as the Dinosaur Capital of the World. This statue is also the face of the city. Therefore, the mayor announced that discussions will be held to avoid its demolition. The city residents are hoping for this
