San Francisco (California): Former US Vice President Kamala Harris called on Americans to unite against President Donald Trump in a powerful speech on April 30.
Kamala was addressing a crowd in the San Francisco Bay Area at an event hosted by Emerge America. It was a major political move by Harris since her election loss to Trump.
She warned of a potential constitutional crisis if Congress and the courts “fail to do their part” and stressed the need for collective action in what she called “the greatest man-made economic crisis in modern presidential history.”
Harris criticized Trump's tariff policies, accusing them of "clearly inviting a recession" and promoting a "pro-rich" vision.
Kamala praised Senators Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders, as well as activists, for their "moral clarity and courage."
With speculation rife about her potential run for governor of California next year and her potential for a future presidency, the speech, her most significant since leaving office, was seen by the media as a clear sign of her return to the political stage.
