A bill that would allow Canadians to stay in the US for longer without a visa is reportedly likely to be introduced soon. The bill has been introduced in the US House of Representatives. The bill, jointly introduced by Representatives Elise Stefanik of New York, Laurel Lee of Florida, and Greg Stanton of Arizona, aims to increase the current visa-free stay limit for Canadian citizens to 240 days from 180 days.

The Canadian Snowbird Visa Act, introduced in late April, is intended to provide long-term residency to individuals over the age of 50 who have a permanent home in Canada and a rented residence in the United States. It is noteworthy that such a major bill has been introduced at a time when the United States is implementing a new law that requires Canadian citizens staying in the United States for more than 30 days to register with the government and keep their registration documents with them at all times.
