Air India has resumed non-stop flights on some North American routes from Delhi International Airport and Mumbai International Airport. Meanwhile, it has eliminated costly and logistically challenging stops in Europe, CH-Aviation Analysis revealed. The changes come in the backdrop of the closure of Pakistan's airspace. According to ADS-B data, non-stop services from Delhi to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark were resumed on May 12 and from Mumbai to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark on May 4. The data also shows that the fuel stop in Vienna has been dropped.

The service from Delhi is operated using A350-900 aircraft. The journey now takes over 15 hours. The service from Mumbai is operated using B777-300ER aircraft. Flights from Delhi to Chicago O'Hare, Toronto Pearson and Washington Dulles continue via Vienna.

Flights to destinations such as San Francisco and Vancouver International Airport were not significantly affected. Flights that had been operating over the Pacific since Pakistan imposed a ban on Indian airlines are also continuing.

Officials said that Air India's flights to Europe and the east coast of North America are facing disruption due to geographical restrictions, which prevent it from crossing Pakistan or the Tibetan plateau.
