Canada Post workers will strike on May 23. Canada Post workers have given notice that they will strike at 12 a.m. local time on Friday. Until then, operations will continue as usual. Canada Post warned that the strike will affect millions of Canadians and businesses that rely on the postal service.
If the strike causes work disruptions, mail and parcels will not be delivered. No new items will be accepted until the disruption is over. However, Canada Post said that all mail that has already been sent will be safely delivered once operations resume. This is the second time in six months that postal service will be disrupted due to a strike.
Canada Post service was paralyzed in November and December when 55,000 employees walked off the job for 32 days. The strike in November cost small businesses $1.6 billion.
