Washington: An attacker shot and killed two Israeli embassy staff in Washington, DC, in the US. The attack took place near the city's Jewish Museum. Yaron Liszinski and Sarah Lynn Milgrie, who had arrived for a cultural event at the museum, were killed. They were colleagues at the embassy where they were engaged. Police have confirmed that the killer is 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez, a native of Chicago.

A man opened fire on a group of four people with a gun, killing two of them, said Washington Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith. He was seen walking outside the museum before the shooting. He surrendered to police after firing. Witnesses said he shouted "Free Palestine" when police arrived. The US Department of Homeland Security said it had launched an investigation into the incident. Israel responded by calling it an act of terrorism against Jews.

President Donald Trump condemned the shooting. He called for an end to these horrific murders based on anti-Semitism in a post on Truth Social. Trump added that hate and terrorism have no place in the USA.
