Covid cases cross 5,000; 4 Covid deaths in 24 hours; Two deaths in Kerala

 

 

Delhi: Covid patients in the country have crossed 5,000. The total number of active cases has increased to 5,364. 498 people have tested positive for the disease in the country in the last 24 hours. Four Covid deaths have also been confirmed. 2 deaths have been confirmed in Kerala alone. A 74-year-old woman and a 79-year-old woman have died of Covid in Kerala. 192 people have tested positive for Covid in the last 24 hours in Kerala. 31% of the country's Covid cases are in Kerala.

The Union Health Ministry has directed the states to intensify their preparations in the wake of the rise in Covid cases in the country. The states have been instructed to ensure the availability of oxygen, isolation beds, ventilators and essential medicines. There is also a warning for people with diseases to avoid crowds. To prevent the spread of the disease, people should maintain hygiene, be careful not to spread germs when sneezing and coughing, and those with diseases should not go to crowds. People with respiratory diseases should be careful, and those with serious symptoms should seek medical help. There is also a suggestion to increase testing. The current suggestion is to test everyone with respiratory diseases and five percent of those with diseases such as influenza for Covid
