Delhi: From March to May this year, most of the iPhones manufactured by Foxconn in India were exported to the US. According to a report by international news agency Reuters, Apple was bringing 97 percent of the iPhones from Foxconn India to the US to overcome Trump's tariff crisis.

Apple was shaken by US President Donald Trump's announcement that he would sharply increase import duties on Chinese-made products. Apple was increasingly dependent on India during the period from March to May this year to overcome this crisis. Foxconn India exported 97 percent of its total iPhones made in India to the US during this period, Reuters reported, citing customs data. In 2024, Apple increased its exports to the US to 97 percent from an average of 50 percent of all iPhones made in India. Previously, Foxconn India had exported iPhones to the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and the UK, in addition to the US.

Foxconn India shipped $3.2 billion worth of iPhones to the US between March and May 2025. In May alone, India exported $1 billion worth of iPhones to the US. The all-time record for iPhone shipments to the US was $1.3 billion in March. Foxconn India is on track to ship $4.4 billion worth of iPhones to the US in the first five months of 2025, up from $3.7 billion worth in 2024.
