Tehran: Elon Musk has confirmed that Starlink satellite broadband internet service has been made available in Iran as tensions with Israel continue. It is also noteworthy that Musk's announcement comes at a time when the Iranian regime has imposed restrictions on the country's traditional internet network in the wake of the escalating tensions. Musk's decision to provide satellite broadband while internet services are banned in Iran is likely to be politically controversial.

Internet services in the country were restricted after Israel launched airstrikes targeting nuclear facilities and military bases in Iran early Friday morning. The Iranian Ministry of Communications announced on Friday that ‘temporary restrictions have been imposed on internet services in the country.’ The Iranian Ministry of Communications also announced that the status quo will continue until the country returns to normal. With this, Elon Musk announced in four words that the satellite broadband network is available to the Iranian people, whose internet system has been shut down. ‘The beams are on,’ Musk, CEO of Starlink satellite internet company, wrote in response to a tweet on Xil.
