North Korea is set to focus more on the tourism sector. A new tourist attraction on its east coast will open next week. A few days ago, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the site and officially inaugurated the tourist attraction by cutting the ribbon. Kim Jong Un described it as a ‘proud first step’ in building a strong tourism industry.
The tourist attraction is reportedly set to open from July 1. The tourist attraction is located in the coastal area of Wonsan-Kalma. The tourist attraction, which was supposed to open in 2019, is now set to open after 6 years. The construction was delayed due to delays in construction work and the Covid pandemic. Currently, only local tourists are allowed to enter. It is unclear when foreign tourists will be allowed to enter. It is estimated that tourists who want to visit North Korea will soon have the opportunity to do so.
