The US Embassy in India said screening will continue even after the visa is granted. The embassy stated that those who do not comply with US laws and immigration regulations will have their visas revoked and deported. The embassy also stated that national security is important to the US.

All applicants will continue to be monitored regularly to ensure proper compliance with US immigration laws. Submitting false information will result in cancellation of the visa. Apart from that, it will also be subjected to deportation proceedings. The Trump administration's move is aimed at curbing illegal entry into the US. Therefore, if you come to the country with false information, there is a possibility that the visa will be canceled in the future. Recently, the Trump administration has tightened measures targeting students from foreign countries including India.

As part of this, the US Embassy has also asked visa applicants to disclose their social media information. All social media usernames and handles of all platforms used in the last five years should be recorded in the DS-160 visa application form. The embassy also informed that the exclusion of social media information may lead to visa denial.
