California: Indian Air Force Group Captain Subhamshu Shukla, who returned to Earth after completing an 18-day long mission on the International Space Station (ISS), waved and saluted. A four-member crew including Subhamshu went to the space station on the private Axiom 4 mission. Carrying them, the crew of SpaceX's Dragon Grace spacecraft splashed down safely on the coast of California this afternoon at three o'clock Indian time. Shubhamshu Grace came out of the casket with a smile and waved to greet everyone.

The Axiom 4 mission reached the International Space Station on June 26. Apart from Shubhamshu Shukla, senior American astronaut Peggy Whitson, Polish native Slawos Usnanski and Hungarian Tibor Kapu were on the mission. The Axiom 4 crew was able to complete all 60 targeted experiments on the space station. A lot of research was done on ISS under the supervision of Subhamshu Shukla, including the experiment of six seeds taken from Kerala. Subhamshu achieved the distinction of being the second Indian to reach space and the first to visit the International Space Station.

Back on Earth, the Axiom 4 crew spent seven days in post-flight rehabilitation at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Only if it is completed will Shubhamshu Shukla come to India. This rest is for the passengers to adjust to the conditions including gravity on Earth as they come from space after a two-week mission. In the meantime, it is expected that Shubhamsu will share his travel experience. 236 kg of cargo, including samples that were part of various experiments, was brought back to Earth on the Grace probe.
