World's most powerful passport: Indian passport improves; jumps eight places, Singapore tops list

 

India has improved its position in the list of the world's most powerful passports released by Henley Passport. The passport that gives easy access to more countries is considered the most powerful passport. India has jumped eight places in this year's list.

India, which was at 85th position last year, has jumped to 77th position this year. Indian passport holders can travel to 59 countries without a visa or with a visa on arrival. The strength of the Indian passport has increased with the improvement in international relations.

Singapore has been selected as the most powerful passport this year too. Singaporean passport holders can travel to 193 countries around the world, either visa-free or with a visa on arrival. Asian countries Japan and South Korea are second on the list. Citizens of these countries can easily travel to 190 countries. The top five rankings include several European countries, including France, Germany, and Italy.
