Texas: A foster father has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the murder of a seven-year-old boy who ate specially prepared food. A seven-year-old boy named Troy Khola was brutally murdered in Texas, USA. The Harris County District Attorney sentenced the 45-year-old to 50 years in prison for the murder in 2022.

The harsh sentence was given to the adoptive father of the 7-year-old boy, Jermaine Thomas. The 7-year-old was found dead in the washing machine during a search conducted on a complaint that Troy was missing. The child's body was found dressed inside the washing machine in the garage. The postmortem found several new and old injuries on the seven-year-old's body.

With this, the police concluded that the incident was not an accident but a murder. The brutal beating was caused by the child eating an oatmeal cream pie that the couple who adopted the seven-year-old had prepared for them. The sentence for Troy's foster mother will be announced on September 10. The investigation team found that the couple had often threatened and beaten the child for trivial reasons. International media reports that the couple had previously punished the child by putting him in the oven.
