More than 11 years in prison for possession of a stolen gun

Plano (Dallas): A McKinney man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison for possession of guns and ammunition.

Police arrested 32-year-old Joe Anthony Placencia following a 911 call from a Plano business. Several guns, ammunition and body armor were recovered from his possession.

He has a prior criminal record and is prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law. U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant III sentenced him to 137 months in prison. The case was investigated by the Plano Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
