Miami: Harjinder Singh, an Indian national who entered the US illegally in 2018, is facing deportation after a car crash in Florida that killed three people. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) said Singh made a dangerous U-turn on the Florida Turnpike on August 12, causing the accident.
Three passengers in a minivan died in the crash. Singh has been charged with manslaughter. He is also facing immigration violations, said Dave Kerner, executive director of the agency.
Singh will be deported once his criminal proceedings are completed, Kerner said. Singh, who entered the US illegally in 2018 and had obtained a commercial driver's license from California despite facing legal action against him, has sparked fresh controversy over licensing for illegal immigrants.
