H-1B visa fee hike: 'Current visa holders will not be affected'; US press secretary explains order

 

 

Delhi: US press secretary Carolyn Levitt said that there is no basis for concern regarding the newly announced annual fee of $ 100,000 for H-1B visas. She tweeted that this fee is a one-time fee, it is applicable only to new applicants and will not be charged annually. She also clarified that this fee will not be required when renewing existing H-1B visas, and that there are no other obstacles for current visa holders to stay in the United States, leave the United States and return. This made it clear that the decision is to control the issuance of new H-1B visas.
