Millions of people use the Google Chrome browser today to search for information, shop, and watch videos. Now the company has made Chrome even better. Google has integrated Gemini AI into Chrome. This is one of the most significant updates to the Chrome browser in recent times. It is noteworthy that this move comes as Google is trying to strengthen its position against competitors such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Perplexity. All of these companies are introducing AI-driven browsing tools.

The Gemini AI integration in Google Chrome will be initially available on Mac and Windows computers and mobile devices in the United States. A new Gemini button in Chrome will allow users to ask questions about the content of web pages, summarize information, and interact with multiple tabs at once. This integration will be available to users on mobile, iOS, and Android.

Google is reportedly planning to position Gemini as a bridge between the Chrome browser and its broader ecosystem. Users will now be able to connect directly to apps like Calendar, YouTube, and Maps without switching tabs. AI can also recall parts of browsing history or surface links and search for them again. In addition, Chrome's omnibar is being updated to support AI-mode searches and page-specific queries.
